「文明の創造、宗教篇」昭和27(1952)年

キリスト教は、キリスト生誕の時から在世中は固より、十字架に懸られる迄の凡ての事は、微に入り細に渉ってかきつくされているので、今改めてかく必要はないから、私としての今迄何人もかかなかった事柄に就てのみかくに止どめておくので、読者は諒せられたいのである。

私が常にいう如く、神は何千年に渉って、天国的文化を形成する目的の下に経と緯の経綸をされて来たのであるが、其経の経綸の代表的宗教としては仏教であり、緯の代表的宗教としてはキリスト教であった。そこで仏教に就ては既に解説して来たから、今キリスト教に移るが、緯の経綸こそ物質文化の進歩発展の基本であって、即ち科学である。今日驚くべき文化の発展は、全くキリスト教以来の世界的経綸である事は言う迄もないが、茲に於てキリストは何故生れたかという事や、其他の点に就て次に詳しくかいてみよう。

As for Christianity, everything about Christ has already been written in the last detail throughout his lifetime from his birth until being crucified. Therefore, I don’t think I need to describe it again. I consequently describe only what no one mentioned. So, please understand.

As I always say, God has carried out His “vertical and horizontal” plan under His providence in order to create heavenly culture. The religion for the vertical plan is represented by Buddhism, whereas that for the horizontal plan is represented by Christianity. Since I have already explained Buddhism, I move on to Christianity now. This horizontal plan is carried out based on the progress of material culture, or science. It is needless to say that today’s astonishing cultural development has been carried out under His global plan since the birth of Christianity. Now I explain why Christianity was born and other points in detail.
